A Thousand Words – new documentary series by Jay Lamm

Good news, folks. Cea Serin’s Jay Lamm has a new documentary series debuting on YouTube called “A Thousand Words.” It’s a weekly show that takes 51 of the world’s most iconic images and tells their story…in about a thousand words. This project was several years in the making since Jay wanted to make sure everything was written, filmed, and edited before the first video ever dropped.

And this is a year-long project running through 2024, starting on Jan. 6th.

Even though Cea Serin is rounding out the ending phase of their third album, Jay Lamm took up photography and for the past 5 years has been working as a freelance photographer. Below are some examples of his work.

You can visit his photography website here.

Please visit the “A Thousand Words” YouTube channel to view the first “intro” video which introduces the audience to the series. While there, please like, subscribe, and even leave a little comment to help me out with that ole YouTube algorithm.

The first episode will be on Neil Armstrong in the EVA as taken by Buzz Aldrin. Other shows will focus on such historic images like the Cottingly Fairies, Richard Avedon’s Beekeeper, Workers by Sebastiao Salgado, Fan Ho, Jill Greenberg, Robert Capa, Annie Leibovitz, the Event Horizon Telescope, and there will even be an episode devoted to the album covers of Abbey Road and Dawn of the Black Hearts.

The first episode drops on January 6th at 11am (CST) and a new episode will premier each following Saturday throughout 2024.

New album by Rory Faciane

Hey folks, Cea Serin drummer extraordinaire, Rory Faciane, has a new CD coming out. He needs a little help when it comes to making the CDs though so check out what he has to offer for your donation:

“I have been working on solo drum music for about 8 years now when I have the opportunity or when creativity hits me. I recorded everything in my studio but had Scott Campbell and Glen Kuykendall mix it…..leave it to the pros! Jessica Vaughn took pictures and Jay Lamm put the artwork for the cover together. I’m at the point of getting CDs pressed and I need some help. I hate asking for money so I decided to do sort of a pre-sale. Here is how it looks if you donate.

5 to 10 = digital download of mp3 and wav. files
15 to 20 = CD and digital download30 to
40= CD, digital download and a pair of sticks signed
40 to 50= CD, digital download, pair of sticks and drumhead signed

I’m very proud of how the CD and artwork have turned out. Its been a labor of love y’all. Will have videos coming soon!

Album progress and 360 degree tour of studio

Things have been quiet for a while but here’s a little update on the recording process for the new album.  All the rhythm guitars, bass, and keyboards are wrapped up.  We’re waiting till summer wraps up so we can start recording drums and finalize things with lead guitars.
Till then, here’s a little 360 degree tour of the working studio space as well as a look at some of the guitars/basses I used on the album.

The World Outside – working song titles and song lengths

As many of you may know, the new album is actively being worked on.  Rhythm guitars are currently being tracked and all is going well in the world.
Speaking of the world–and as stated in the liner notes of the previous album–the album title for the new Cea Serin will be The World Outside.  It’s an album title I’ve had in mind for quite some time and I’m eager to share it with everyone because I believe it’s the best thing material the band has to offer.  By that, I mean, this is going to be our Slaughter of the Soul or our Images and Words album.

So let’s talk about the song names and song lengths to get an inkling of what this batch will be about.
